“Well, it’s cryin’ time again, you’re gonna leave me–I can see that faraway look in your eyes”…la la la

Oh, boy, do I ever see that!!! You know, mama and papa plan things pretty far in advance, especially when there are myriad visits to various family members involved, and so the are looking a little sheepish around me right now because I’m pretty sure they are taking off pretty soon on one of those giant birds that go whoom-whoom and get you from here to there in no time.

Okay, okay, I always have a really nice lady here whom around my paw I can wrap (syntax?) and who does pretty good snuggles and caresses, I have to admit, but still.

Plus I have this new place at the table that was NEVER allowed before, but since I have such good manners and don’t beg (like those silly little doggies do all the time) and don’t myow for my share but only sit quietly and wait to see if there is a little piece of something placed delicately in front of my nose on the chair, then mama and papa allow me to rest quietly with them while they chow down on poached salmon or grilled chops and the like—a far cry from Purina but what the heck.

So I’m preparing for the worst.

Or maybe it’s the best! Don’t they say that absence makes the heart grow fonder? They say that, right? Or was it absence makes the heart go WANDER?

Well, you two, you had better reconsider all of your plans for a minute and think how YOU’D feel if I walked out the door with my little suitcase and said, “See you in three weeks, mama and papa—arrivederci, ciao, adios, a tres bientot and sayonara, too!”

Hey, hey, you’d feel pretty rotten, wouldn’t you…yeah, VERY rotten.

Mama’s brother is really important right now and needs a visit and mama’s beautiful aunts need visits for sure (plus I’ve heard they make the world’s best guacamole, not to mention the barbeque in that place…I’m drooling, sorry) so I can understand a little tripping around every now and then.

I’M NOT HAPPY AT ALL ABOUT THIS!!!

And I’m stayin’ here until you get back. So there.
