(This was the best salmon I have EVER tasted–thank you Arnie, the fisherman!)

Do you know what our guests from Vancouver brought me for dinner? A can of WILD SOCKEYE SALMON, that’s what. Now, is that a nice guest or what? These are friends of mama and papa from years ago and they take care of 100 acres of land with sheep and goats and probable cousins of those no-good donkeys here in Collioure except that theirs are miniature donkeys and oh, so cute, so that’s what these two nice people do, plus they have had a restaurant in their past lives and they are both cooks of the highest order not to mention just really good hearts and kind people (I could tell because they left me alone to do my thing and I rubbed on one of them when I felt like it!) and I just wanted to THANK them for thinking of the kitty when they visit–now THAT’S thoughtful.

Because they are chefs, I’m going to put in my two cents for…well, let’s see…maybe a roast chicken with truffles under the skin (or some more Sockeye salmon)–whatever they want to whip up in their spare time, haha (just kidding–they’re here for a vacation, after all, not to work, work, work).  Nice to have some chefs around the house….I’ll bet their cat, Binky (a Scottish Fold) really misses them! But, haha, Binky–I’VE got them now, at least for a few days.

They went out to feed those aforementioned no-good bums up the street (just check out the tongue detail; gross!)—the ones who make those hee-haws in the morning and probably wake up the whole neighborhood an then they went to help mama and papa get wood for the winter in big bags that another neighbor saves for them and now one of them is going to give mama a lesson on her IPad (along with me, so that I can use it, too, when we travel) and all I want to say is that everyone ought to have guests like them and they could just travel around visiting people for years, making them happy.

One thing for sure—I hope they’re coming back here one day, because I understand they might even be here just for me for a short while, and I know that in their suitcase I’m going find another can of this Sock-it-to-me salmon.

Just so they don’t bring anything for those hairy creatures up the road…they’re fat enough already. Do you know what they FEED those guys? ARTICHOKE LEAVES. Not to mention anything else in the kitchen that no one wants.

Hee haw, indeed!

Hey, I can “hee-haw” with the best of ’em!
