I stayed up too late and watched elections.

But, we are really happy here in France that the infamous Marie Le Pen has slipped into the sidelines after the young, vibrant Mr. Macron took this first vote by storm.  This, a man who quit his job as Finance Minister with President Hollande and said, “I’m going to run for President instead.”

A go-getter.  Hard to translate in French.  I’ve asked a few kitties for the equivalent but got no response.  So many words in English, a very rich language, do not translate into other languages and vice versa.  “Magari” for example in Italian, which actually can be used as “I wish” as in “Was that you whose anthro gave you double kibble the other day by mistake?” And you answer, “Magari!”

So it’s not easy to follow the election parties without a dictionary.  There is the centrist left and the far left and the centrist right and the far right and even more parties and now there is this upstart who is vowing to get them all to work together for a stronger France instead of separating themselves from the issues that need attention.  Sound familiar?  Well, let’s hope he can pull it off and show the old guard what a new pup can do.

A supporter of Frexit, he is not.  He wants France to stay in the European Union and become strong, like Germany.

He says he will be tough on the UK and tough on Trump.  YAY, let’s hear it for Macron.  Besides, as one of mama’s friends said to her during the campaign, “He has my husband’s blue eyes, so I will vote for him for sure.”  She was pulling mama’s leg, but he DOES have Martin’s blue eyes!!

Hey, as good a reason to vote for him as wanting to vote for Le Pen because she wants to take France back a few centuries!

Felicitation, M. Macron.  We are behind you all the way, plus I hear you like kitties.

Mama just told me I have to watch more elections on May 7th!  I had better rest up…
