brick-lane-market
Whoa…mama’s kind of place!!!

I don’t think I’m going, but mama asked me to query any of our British friends out there about things to do in London if you only have 7 days and 4 of them are with kid and grandkids. Any ideas.

If they take me, I’m headed straight for the Palace, Buckingham, that is, to make those guards laugh and laugh at my antics. I just know I could get a myow out of at least one…but I’ve heard it’s impossible.

Then I’m headed to any and all of the bridges just to see them because they’re beautiful, and then maybe I’ll try to rustle up some fish and chips—not an easy task, I’ve heard, these days. Mama remembers fish and chips in newspaper and the fish were real Atlantic cod and the chips crunchy and the oil fresh but who knows now what they do with this great dish? So many creative chefs have moved into London and I hear there is a really good Indian restaurant called Gymkhana, and they’ll have a lot of things for me for sure, but maybe I’ll just go down by the river and stick my little paw in and catch my own wiggler.

Maybe they’ll take me to Browns for tea or the Dorchester for a martini, HA HA!!!

When it was more afforable mama stayed there years and years ago—make that eons ago—and she and her friend taught the chef how to make chicken-fried steak. Right in the ktichen!! Boy, those were the days…

I wonder if they still serve it? Hmm…that’s a reason to pop my little mug in and wander around.

But I think I’d like Brick Lane best. I hear they have a great fish market!

Among other things…

Do you think they’d have Wellies for kitties somewhere in there..?
