Well, mama has been out picking kiwis that somehow have doubled since last year and they are not even growing in our garden but come from the branches of the neighbor’s beautiful vines, which he instructed mama to weave into our fence and share his bounty and so we did.

These are ours

and here is the source, down below.

Well, bounty there is. And if my New Zealand kitties are reading this today, perhaps they could shed some light on harvesting kiwi and how to store a GAZILLION kiwis over the winter. Jean, our guru, says to put them with an apple and a banana to ripen them, but some of them are ripe now (although not as sweet as last year because of the weather changes).

I like rolling them around on the ground when they accidently drop off the vines during mama’s racolte (harvest), and that’s about my interest in kiwis. But everyone else here loves them and all our friends want some so at least we have places to unload them! To me, they look like little hedgehogs, whatever that is.

Hi, Loulou, I AM WHATEVER THAT IS!!! Aren’t I cute?

Did you know that a kiwi has more vitamin C than just about any fruit? A kiwi and a carrot and a bunch of parsley eaten everyday gives you a fair amount of vitamins for the winter, and our garden is full of parsley!

Well, this is my 899th blog so the next one will be celebration time—maybe a little extra nip and some of that chicken they put on the table to make me go nuts. Those anthros! You don’t see me sticking Lindt chocolate bars under their dinner plates, do you? Or Magnums? That would really do it. Or mama’s truffles? What a mess.

So I’m going off to wait for lunch right now and so what I can wangle.

Just don’t peel me a kiwi, okay? I see you in there trying to put one in my tuna.
