Waiting to taste recipes from Chef Julian, Caesar of the Vegans!

Well, since mama cooks a lot of Italian food and has written a book on Roman cooking, I’m pretty used to good smells around here and every now and then I get a little tidbit of stracotto or osso buco or pasta alla putanesca and so on, but now I’ll be getting tastes of the recipes from the website of, well, I’m not sure—the son of mama’s stepdaughter.  His new and exciting and tasty website is:

www.italianandvegan.com

Now, mama is not yet vegan and may never be but vegetarian recipes are prevalent in this house and from the looks of the recipes in Julian Modiano’s (that’s his name, my distant relation) repertoire, there are going to be some vegan ones soon.

Only a few of the vegan dishes from Julian’s kitchen…

Mama says that kid is amazing.  He seems to be able to do anything he wants when he wants to and evidently, from the looks of the beautifully photographed dishes, he has been doing A LOT!!!

I just had to mention him today, because there’s a recipe in there from a time when he was going to Rome to “pick up his cat”, and I happen to know that that kitty is one helluva beauty and a  sweet kitty, too.  Afrodite is her name and playin’ is her game.

I’m going to meet her in London if they’ll take me with them on their little trip in May….

I fit right in that suitcase and can hide under mama’s Russian hat!

Maybe that Julian person will try out a few recipes on ME! Catnip cannoli? Kibble cookies?  We’ll see…
