If I play The String Game, I get fed! (I’m not goin’ to a gym, that’s for sure…)

I just realized that mamma and I play hunger games every morning and evening! Wow. If only I could show up in some of those costumes they wear…

Mama has mentioned before how she really feels good in her body and soul when she drops a prejudice or a preconception about something, and she told me just last week that going to Hunger Games was one of those “never” things she always says, mainly because she’s a bit over the top being a Texan and uses words like “never” and “always” or “the best” or “the worst” when actually she means “sometimes” or “pretty good” or “sort of okay”, but it’s just one of the pieces of her personality so what can I do?

Well, I take it all with a grain of salt, that’s what I do, but when she and papa came in tonight after having seen “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” I could see that she was really glad she had left that particular bias behind.

For one thing, Jennifer Lawrence and the rest of the cast are pretty down to earth and even though it is a fantasy story, it has an underlying morality that mama says kids can relate to.  She also went because she wants to know what kids are watching.

So, one more prejudice falls by the wayside, and let’s hope there are others.

The one, for example, that makes us kitties the bad guys when something on a table falls off (!) or stockings are pulled out of drawers or all the cabinet doors are open in the dining room (the locks really need work).

So mama is a little lighter now that she’s embraced The Hunger Games.

She’s actually looking around for more prejudices to drop.

I think I’ll feed her a few ideas…
