This morning mama received an email from the ACLU, asking for a signature to bring suit against two psychologists (!) who instigated the program of torture for the CIA. Torture has become a rite in the CIA. As in ritual. As in an accepted form of behaviour, repeated again and again.

It is unthinkable to us, mama, papa, me, that human beings can even consider torturing another human being. Mama goes ballistic when she sees an anthro slapping or teasing his dog or teasing or jerking his/her kid around on the street for ‘discipline’, which also sometimes includes a good whack.

Unthinkable. A large adult does not have the right to harm a tiny child.

Period.

Lately, mama has been thinking about the fact that more and more women are joining ISIS, and the idea that women would condone the activities of that terror organization is horrifying. The atrocities committed by terrorist groups are unimaginable, but in and by our own government, they are abominable, unlawful, and often, the victims do not recover or are maimed for life.

When something is against the law, isn’t it against the LAW?

And these psychologists are doctors, for heaven’s sake.

The Hippocratic Oath is an oath historically taken by physicians. It is one of the most widely known of Greek medical texts. In its original form, it requires a new physician to swear, by a number of healing gods, to uphold specific ethical standards, and first, do no harm. Wikipedia.

Well, mama signed the petition, that’s for sure, and it was just this morning that I heard her saying that one gets so many petition emails that it’s hard to deal with all of them, some of which are those of the ACLU, but after having seen this petition, she’s going to open all of them from now on.

Or I will…
