Do you think those guys are going to agree on ANYTHING?

Well, our French president and out USA president are meeting for fireworks for July 14th.

And there should be plenty to go around.

At least the food will be great!  Lucky Trump.

Bastille Day here is really quite wonderful with the most beautiful feu d’artifice (artificial fire=fireworks) over the bay at a little town 2 kilometres away, Port Vendres.  Everyone has a simple dinner at restaurants along the water and watches from there–there is a special menu for the evening, not very expensive, with a first course, a main course and dessert.  Wine, of course, since this we are in…duh…France.  I have to say, the French really know how to live.  Maybe it’s because they are a very social and outgoing people–they travel in groups and eat in groups and walk in groups or in twos and threes.  The same goes for Italy.  But often the French get a bad rap of being distant and cold.  None of us in this family have found that to be true, and on July 14th, their Independence Day, you will the French at their best. I’ll take some pics when the holiday rolls around.

Meanwhile, we are back in cold, damp miserable weather, wondering where these radical changes come from.  All the lemons have fallen off the tree at last but perhaps our heavy rain will encourage the pathetic tomatoes in mama’s garden to get with it!!!  The two courgettes are in hibernation, haha.

I’m still stalking the wild tourterelles.

Well, as you can see, I am in control of the situation here at home, even if world leaders have their batibecchi (beak beating=arguments over differences). That birdie drinks out of my birdbath, you’re going to see some fireworks around HERE!

But I’m not sure our president is birds of a feather with anyone…

Hey, when in doubt, kick back and play a little soccer…
