YAY!….sun is out!!! And mama and papa have a visitor coming—a friend of papa’s daughter and co-author with her of Argentina, a book put together in Buenos Aires a few years ago with essays by many women from different countries who now live in Buenos Aires. A lovely book with great photographs, which I like to peruse in case there is a compatriot in one of them. There are kitties in Argentina, you know. And if you’re planning a trip to Argentina, this book is better than a travel agent for letting you know what you are in for. A magical country is the sense that I get from these very intimate and personal views. A magical country. Very magical.

Mama is so tickled to meet this friend, because mama has always wished she could tango, not even with the best, but tango just enough to be able to dance it if the occasion ever arose. Mama would also love to speak Mandarin, Russian, Japanese and Catalan, know how to downhill ski, skate well (she says her ankles turn in horribly when she hits the ice), learn sign language so as to speak with the deaf, and several hundred other things that I could mention if I had the time, but I don’t.

And this friend of mama’s stepdaughter has a passion for tango and has studied it and danced it with her husband for nine years!!! I wonder if I sneaked in there and put on a tango cd if this friend would dance for me. Personally, I think kitties do a few tango steps every now and then, certainly more than they do break dancing or swing, but I can’t seem to find a teacher here in southern France. Hmmm, wonder why that is?

Maybe mama can find lessons online.   But of course that’s no substitute for a good teacher. Mama says the only other problem is that she’s given up tango shoes, if not the slit skirts and fishnet stockings. Those may never go.

Oh, and she wanted to sing in a night club, too.

Well, at least she never wanted to be a doggie breeder.

Whew…that was close!
