Binky, a Scottish Fold, in her youth

Today, I wish to send my hugs to dear friends of ours, Jacquie and Brian, whose kitty, Binky, died two days ago.  As Jacquie wrote to mama,

Binky received her wings.
Goodbye sweet girl!
29 March 1999 – 4 May 2016
Knowing how difficult it is to lose a dear kitty and any animal that has become a family member, I want Jacquie to know that I will be her stand-in kitty for as long as she needs me and she can cry on my fur whenever she feels she wishes to do that.  We are far away from one another, but she knows me well and took me for walks last fall when we were fortunate to be all together in that lovely Italian place.  It was Binky’s mom who put the leash on me and let me wander through the rooms exploring because I could not go outside.
And I thought then, “How nice it would be to have Jacquie’s Binky here, too, so that neither of us would be lonely while our parents visited.”
Jacquie and Brian hated to leave Binky when they had to travel, but she always had incredible back-up–friends who would stay with her, Binky-lovers dropping by to give caresses, and many others, I’m sure.
But as you see, Binky was 17 years old, a wondrous age for a kitty, and oh, had she lived an exciting life!
I’m hoping that there is not too much sadness for Jacquie and Brian and that Binky comes around every now and then to show us her new wings.
