DON’T MAKE ME LOOK AT THAT FISHHEAD GUY, OKAY? I GET HUNGRY.

Well, mama and papa went to an art show by that anthro artist, Arcimboldo, who makes portraits of other anthros out of fruits and vegetables and even FISH, like this one:

Or this one:

They are original, that’s for sure.

And sorry to be a bit skittish about this, but mama said that Arcimboldo’s style is NOT her cup of tea…or paint, as the case may be.  Certainly the guy was talented but oh, boy, you wouldn’t want to look at this one too long if it were hanging in the kitchen, right?  In fact, some of the paintings, in papa’s view, were downright depressing.  In my opinion, this is a schtick that Mr. A found to be successful, and you’ll see the famous portrait made with fruit and veggies on many publications like books and calendars and even fabric. Maybe that one was easier to stomach…so to speak.  There is no doubt this is a brilliant draftsman, but mama really felt his drawings outshine any of the almost monotonous food portraits.

Well, that’s OUR opinion, but I’m sure there are many others who relish his art (no pun intended again).  No question that he was quick on the draw.

In all fairness, here’s one of his works that mama actually did like a lot.

It looks like a mer-family to mama, and is beautifully rendered…everyone with a mermaid tail, and I kind of like that guy over on the left with someone on his head.  Mama would have liked to have seen more of these instead of the fruit faces.

She says that a little goes a long way.

I’m really having to take a long rest after counting all the fish in that guy’s face.  I still think I missed a couple…
